WahlTek & Northland at the 2026 IA APCO & NENA Spring Conference

IA APCO NENA Spring ConferenceThank You, Iowa APCO & NENA: Highlights from the 2026 Spring Conference

WahlTek and Northland & Companies were proud to attend the 2026 IA APCO & NENA Spring Conference, held April 19–21, 2026, at the Holiday Inn Des Moines Airport in Des Moines, Iowa. The event once again brought together Iowa’s public safety communications community for three days of education, collaboration, and meaningful conversation.

We were grateful for the opportunity to connect with so many of our long‑time customers, as well as to meet new prospects from PSAPs and ECCs across Iowa. Whether stopping by the WahlTek booth, engaging in technical discussions, or sharing experiences around system upgrades and operational challenges, the conversations we had reinforced the strength of Iowa’s public safety community and its commitment to continuous improvement.

Rebrief: Our Presentation on April 20

On Monday, April 20, WahlTek and Northland & Companies hosted a lunchtime presentation focused on one of the most pressing challenges facing PSAPs today: how to modernize logging and quality processes without overburdening staff or straining budgets.

During the session, we shared practical insights on:

  • How AI‑powered logging, transcription, and search can reduce manual workload and administrative review time
  • Key updates and considerations particularly relevant to Iowa PSAPs, including infrastructure changes and upcoming Motorola upgrades
  • AIS consolidation and cost reduction opportunities
  • Low-cost options for transitioning to the Revcord logging platform
  • How PSAPs can take part in a zero-risk free trial of Revcord ReVI

The discussion emphasized that agencies don’t need to choose between operational reliability and innovation. With flexible deployment models—including on‑prem, hybrid, and Logging‑as‑a‑Service—PSAPs can adopt technology that aligns with both current operational demands and future needs.

Meaningful Conversations, Real‑World Challenges

Throughout the conference, we had the privilege of speaking with agencies at many different stages—those planning for upcoming system transitions, those evaluating redundancy and cloud strategies, and those exploring AI tools for transcription, QA, and incident reconstruction.

What stood out most was the shared focus on:

  • Maintaining uptime and compliance
  • Reducing dispatcher burnout
  • Preparing for future system changes, while managing today’s realities

These conversations are invaluable to us. They directly shape how WahlTek and Northland & Companies approach technology recommendations, service delivery, and long‑term support.

Thank You for Connecting with Us

To everyone who stopped by the WahlTek booth, attended our session, or took time to talk with our team—thank you. We truly value these opportunities to listen, learn, and collaborate.

If you weren’t able to attend the conference, or if you’d like to continue the conversation, our team would be happy to connect. We remain committed to supporting Iowa’s PSAPs and ECCs with reliable solutions, responsive service, and a long‑term partnership approach.

We appreciate everything you do to support public safety across Iowa, and we look forward to seeing you again soon.
