Safely & Securely Record Court Proceedings With New Audio Capture Software From BusComm Incorporated

Courts Around the World Rely on For The Record Gold to Record Every Interaction & Statement

For decades, For The Record (FTR) Gold has been delivering world-firsts to help drive the modernization of justice. The first to capture audio from teleconferencing platforms in 1998. The first to introduce video in courts in 2001. FTR Gold remains the world’s most trusted and thorough solution for recording proceedings. Our forward-thinking continues to pre-empt the changing workflows and demands of the justice system.

FTR Gold

  • Responsible for capturing 60% of court recordings worldwide.
  • Combines almost 30 years of real-world testing in court systems, public safety, and other governmental hearings.
  • Installed in more than 30,000 courtrooms across 62 countries and all 50 U.S. States.

Industry Leading Capabilities

FTR’s flagship software continues to expand its industry-leading capabilities to capture and playback the complete digital record—including audio and video. Remote participation and the hybrid mix of in-person and online appearances has accelerated over the past year, with video now more important than ever. To help the justice system meet the demands of remote video participation, FTR Gold’s video capabilities have been improved, now capturing four channels of HD video from more non-IP cameras (such as webcams and USB cameras with adjustable frame rates and upgraded codec).

Improved AV Features

FTR Gold 7 comes with a suite of new AV features that dramatically improve the quality, capacity, and accessibility of both audio and video, including enhanced recording and playback of up to 16 channels of high-fidelity audio, the number of channels considered optimal for isolating voice for cost-effective, fast, accurate transcription. Because the increasing number of remote workers puts additional strain on wide area networks (WAN) and virtual private networks (VPN), our Player caching improvements resolve poor network connectivity issues. We do this by maintaining a local cache of recording files that allow for a smoother playback experience for users working remotely. This latest release is consistent with our drive to help courts, law enforcement, and government agencies meet compliance while evolving into their digital futures.

FTR Gold offers a variety of recording, monitoring & capturing features

Choose Your Suite
  • Recording Suite

Capture and manage the court record using Gold Recording Suite, which is FTR’s flagship, on-premise suite of software tools for each courtroom. With high-fidelity audio, HD video recording, easy annotation, and advanced storage and access, Recording Suite has everything you need to record with confidence.

  • Monitoring Suite

Centrally monitor and remotely record proceedings in multiple courtrooms or courthouses with FTR Gold Monitoring Suite. Users can remotely start and stop recordings, monitor audio activity, playback content from specific venues, and annotate while listening to recordings. We have also improved our installer to simplify upgrades to Version 7 from previous versions, as well as included cross-compatibility between the latest Recording Suite and the older version of Warehouse.

  • Annotation Suite

Efficiently playback, annotate and manage the digital record with FTR Gold Annotation Suite. Users create meaningful, searchable log notes that are critical to an accurate transcript, such as appearances, spellings, and key terminology, and link to the precise place in the audio and video recording. Many new visible and behind-the-screen improvements are available in Log Notes, Player, and Manager. These include improved performance for remote users, group policy support for managing user accessibility to log sheets and search folders, and better playback quality to aid transcription.

  • FTR Log Notes

Included in FTR’s Recording, Monitor, and Annotation Suites, FTR Log Notes takes the guesswork out of recalling and locating critical moments for playback. With FTR Log Notes, you can take notes and link them to a precise place in the audio and video recording, then return to the relevant place simply by clicking the time stamp. Log Notes allows you to quickly and efficiently review your recordings and annotation.
